Why this release

2.0.2 was the sprint finish. 2.0.3 is the tightening down.

We spent this cycle on the parts of the app you feel deeply but might rarely think about—how screens move, where the back button takes you, whether a capture survives the moment you need it most.

Dozens of small fixes, a pile of crash work, and a fresh coat on the iOS experience. Nothing here moves your muscle memory. But everything here gets out of your way.

Headliners

📱 New look, same muscle memory

  • Refreshed iOS interface with updated visuals and cleaner, more modern navigation. It looks like a 2026 app now.
  • Screen transitions, back navigation, buttons, and layout behavior all reworked. Back takes you back—to where you came from, not wherever the app decided was close enough.
  • Everything still lives where it lived. If you knew how to run a lesson yesterday, you know how to run one today.

🧰 A big batch of bugs, gone

  • Fixed a wide set of issues across lesson flows, coach workflows, athlete views, and profiles.
  • Cleared up several cases where a screen didn't refresh correctly after you'd already done the thing.
  • If you filed a bug report in the last few months, there's a real chance it's in this release.

🛡️ Fewer crashes, where crashes hurt most

  • Resolved multiple crash scenarios in media capture, upload, and editing.
  • A crash on a settings screen is annoying. A crash mid-capture is a rep you can't get back. That's where we spent the time.
  • Also squared away a set of backend edge cases that were causing inconsistent behavior on specific accounts.

💳 Subscriptions and billing, tidied up

  • Cleaned up subscription, downgrade, and billing edge cases.
  • Plan changes now behave predictably across the board. No surprises about what you're on or what you owe.

🏄 New sport: Surfing

  • Surfing is live, with its own coach types and lesson types built out sport-native—the same way every sport on Coachly gets built out.
  • Pop-up timing, rail work, line selection on a specific wave. Video analysis has been part of high-level surf coaching for years. Now it has a home here.

➕Even more in this release

  • Improved admin and support tooling, so account questions get resolved in fewer round trips.
  • Several operational backend flows cleaned up.
  • Assorted smaller usability improvements throughout the app.

What this means for you

Coaches

  • An app that feels faster and steadier through a full day of lessons, not just the first one.
  • Fewer interruptions in the editor and capture flows, which is where a crash actually costs you something.
  • Billing and plan changes you don't have to double-check.

Athletes & Parents

  • Smoother navigation through lessons, profiles, and media.
  • Fewer dead ends and stuck screens between you and your coach's feedback.

How to update

What’s next

More speed work, more insight in Business Insights, and more sport-native touches you’ll notice the moment you open a lesson. If there’s a rough edge we haven’t hit yet, tell us—[email protected]—we read
