Coaching Philosophy
I believe great hitters aren’t built through constant mechanical correction, but through developing awareness, adaptability, and ownership of their process. I view hitting as an integrated system made up of three interconnected pieces: the physical, the technical, and the tactical. The physical provides the foundation — how the body organizes and remains available for competition. The technical offers the science — understanding patterns, constraints, and cause-and-effect without becoming trapped by rigid mechanics. The tactical represents the art — perception, decision-making, timing, emotion, and context. My approach emphasizes helping players notice before they change, interpret feedback from each swing and pitch, and regulate themselves in real time. Rather than prescribing a single “right” way to hit or chasing outcomes, hitters learn to commit to clear intentions, stay neutral between pitches, and adapt based on what the environment provides. The goal is alignment between preparation, awareness, and execution so performance becomes repeatable under pressure and players ultimately develop the capacity to be their own best coach.
