Analysis
I will start from the ground up and explain the physical “leaks” that occur throughout the phase of the throw or swing. It is common for flaws at the end of the pitch/swing to be influenced or encouraged by mistakes made at the beginning of the initial leg lift or loading phase. I will provide you with a proper analysis that will highlight the flaws as well as explain the appropriate adjustments that need to be made. Whether it’s struggles with balance, stability, posture, arm patterning, or bath path, I will do my absolute best to help you take your game to the next level.
Full Remote
With Full Remote, I will provide proper analysis of the flaws within the client’s movements, as well as appropriate drills and exercises that will directly influence the critical errors. These video analysis breakdowns are a tool I want to use to help these athletes understand how to one day coach themselves. Once they know what they are looking for on video, the sooner the adjustments can be made. A photo of a professional athlete demonstrating the particular throwing style or swing will also be provided to build an awareness of what some of the best in the game are doing today to be elite.
Coaching Philosophy
I’ll be the first to admit that I made mistakes as a coach in this game, but what I learned throughout those errors is that coaches in general should not be graded based on how much knowledge obtained or wins acquired under their belt. A great coach is someone who can lead, encourage, demonstrate with words as well as action. A great coach is also patient, passionate, and is never afraid to reach out for more help. Someone who is always hungry to learn more so there is undoubted confidence in the information is the absolute best that can be provided. Baseball is not a game controlled by “cookie cut” skills and drills that will guarantee the outcome you are looking for 100% of the time. This is a game of failure, and only the best will consist of those who can take the feedback from those failing moments, and walk away with their head held high and some useful knowledge in their back pocket. As a coach, I’ve learned it is important to help each player understand how to use the information, in all detail, so they can develop the ability to explain to those who challenge their beliefs, or even to those who want to learn their technique along the way. I believe when asked, “why, do you swing like that instead of like this?” The player should be able to provide a detailed explanation to the benefits within the physical checkpoints met along the way in their movements. Not “Because Coach Shimo told me to do it this way.” Baseball is much more than what you see taking place between the baselines, and it’s my job to teach each player how to coach themselves to be the best they can be both on and off the field.
