Coaching Philosophy

My philosophy as a coach is based on simplicity, clarity, and purpose. The game is already challenging, and my job is to help players unlock their potential by focusing on fundamentals, building confidence, and developing a strong understanding of both the physical and mental sides of hitting. 1. Keep the Swing Simple I believe the swing should never be overcomplicated. A player who is thinking too much at the plate will struggle to perform freely. My goal is to strip away unnecessary clutter and help each hitter find a repeatable, efficient swing that works for them. 2. Build from the Ground Up A repeatable swing starts with the back leg and rear hip. Power, stability, and adjustability all come from the lower half. I emphasize teaching hitters how to create and control this foundation so that the rest of the swing flows naturally. 3. Control the Forward Move Hitting is about balance and timing. By controlling the forward move, a hitter can stay in rhythm, adjust to different pitches, and remain grounded in their mechanics. I want players to feel their body working in sequence, not rushing or forcing movement. 4. Always Know the โ€œWhyโ€ Every drill, adjustment, or approach has a purpose. I believe players should understand why they are doing something, not just repeat it blindly. When hitters know the reason behind their training, they can take ownership of their development and make smarter in-game adjustments. 5. Win the Mental Game Baseball is as much mental as it is physical. I want players to develop resilience, confidence, and the ability to compete one pitch at a time. A strong mental game allows a hitter to handle failure, trust their preparation, and play with freedom under pressure. I want to empower players by simplifying the process, building from strong foundations, and teaching both the mechanics and the mindset, I aim to develop hitters who are confident, adaptable, and prepared to succeed at any level.
