Taylor has been coaching my now 13 year old since he was 8 or 9. Gives great information, he’s GREAT with kids/teens, and a great coach. He’s a reputable athlete who has a wealth of knowledge of the game and is passionate about giving it to others.
Coaching Philosophy
Hi! My name is Taylor and I am a professional pitching coach and former professional pitcher both in the MiLB and Independent ball, reaching the level of AAA. I was also coaching for about 7 years before changing my career to become a firefighter. However, coaching is still a passion of mine and I am continuing to share my experiences within this space alongside my career in firefighting. I love sharing what I have learned while both playing and coaching because it is just too much of a disservice to keep it to myself. I am also passionate about continuing to be a student of this beautiful game and keeping up to date with new drills, trends, and ways to coach. I believe in being a player’s coach, and being able to build a trusting relationship with the athlete and their support group is important to me. I have failed throughout my playing career more than I have succeeded, and I have embraced that into my coaching because I know how to deal with failure and adversity. When that time comes for my athletes, which it will more times than not when it comes to baseball, they know they can talk to me for quality advice and can trust what I can offer. I have learned from many great minds in the game of baseball and have taken each part that was valuable to me and put it into the way I coach. I know that what worked for me isn’t what will work for everyone else, but I can help steer you in the right direction because it is not “one size fits all.” Being able to play at the professional level was a blessing, and I have been able to experience the ups and downs of the game at a high level. Whether it comes to mechanical cues, mentality shifts, a quality strength program to get started on, good habits to incorporate into your daily routine, or even the recruiting process — I can most definitely help. Let’s get you to be the absolute best you can be, both on and off the field! Feel free to reach out to me before any lesson to see what I am about, or if you just want a quick chat about pitching. My phone is always readily available and I will respond as soon as I possibly can.
